TERM 2 - January – June
Math - (these are the main focus in the JUMPMATH program but other math topics will be reviewed and practiced throughout Term 2)
- Geometry: 2D Shapes (moved to TERM 1)
- Number Sense: Counting to 100
- Number Sense: Introduction to Adding and Subtracting
- Number Sense: Number Words and Story Problems
- Number Sense: Introduction to Skip Counting
- Number Sense: Number Lines
- Number Sense: Addition and Subtraction Strategies
- Number Sense: Advanced Story Problems
- Patterns and Algebra: Patterns and Equality
- Geometry: 3-D Shapes
- Measurement: Time, Area and Capacity
Language Arts
- Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to explore thoughts, ideas, feelings and experiences.
- Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to comprehend and respond personally and critically to oral, print and other media texts.
- Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to manage ideas and information.
- Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to enhance the clarity and artistry of communication.
- Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent to respect, support and collaborate with others.

Social Studies
- I Belong (INCORRECTLY POSTED – We will be studying ‘Moving Forward With The Past: My Family, My History and My Community’)
Gym
- Students will acquire skills through a variety of developmentally appropriate movement activities; dance, games, types of gymnastics, individual activities and activities in an alternative environment; e.g. outdoors.
- Students will understand, experience and appreciate the health benefits that result from physical activity.
- Students will interact positively with others.
- Students will assume responsibility to lead an active way of life.
Health and Life Skills
- Students will make responsible and informed choices to maintain health and to promote safety for self and others.
- Students will develop effective interpersonal skills that demonstrate responsibility, respect and caring in order to establish and maintain healthy interactions.
- Students will use resources effectively to manage and explore life roles and career opportunities and challenges.
Art – There will be a focus on reflection, depiction, composition and expression. Art will include:
- document experiences
- illustrate stories
- add detail and color to personally created pieces
- express feelings or message through art
- use different techniques such as drawing, painting, print making, using fabric, and others
Music – (taught by Mrs. Sorensen)
- demonstrates technical ability with clarity and precision
- analyzes, evalutate and responds critically to music
- understands and expresses musical ideas
Personal Development Through Learning (to be reported in the June Report Card)
